In this hands-on workshop, participants will gain all of the knowledge, tools, and ingredients they need to start growing their very own kitchen herb garden. During the workshop each participant will choose their herbs, prepare their soil mix, and plant their very own personalized herb garden. We will be discussing plant selection and maintenance, soil health, and general edible knowledge to help support you on your growing journey wherever you may be. This workshop is meant for anyone with a desire and some space, whether you are in an apartment with minimal space or a home with a backyard. We look forward to hosting you and getting you growing!
Please note: All materials provided. Each participant will take home one planted herb garden with 3 unique herbs and a handout with all information provided in the workshop.
About the instructor: Lauren Fieberg has over 10 years of experience in edible landscape education. An avid gardener and trained Agroecologist Lauren has been involved with both large and small scale edible landscape installations. A local South Park resident, she has transformed her lawn to an abundant front yard farm. In addition, Lauren has been involved in various nonprofits including The Human Nature Center, Transition Laguna Beach, Slow Food, and The Ecology Center. Lauren is excited to share her passion and experience with edible education and permaculture as part of the Plants Por Favor Team.
